Feelings very much used to dictate my actions. I find that to be the case less and less as I reorient my mind to focus on the eternal truths of Christ rather than on my wavering emotions. Like Paul in prison and Job when all seemed lost, there are many examples of people being blessed in the midst of difficulties and praised God regardless. I would say that when difficulties come, and they do for us all, we all have the choice of turning to God or away from Him as a response. I pray that I have the strength to continually turn to Him when difficulties come.

I general, my actions are driven by my feelings. It's really difficult to find the motivation to find joy in the trials, in fact it hard work to do so. Many times its just easier to be upset with my circumstances and shake my fists at the sky when things don't go according to plan. However, in the times that I force myself to praise, worship, and spend one-on -one time with the Lord, I always come away feeling rejuvenated.
