Click below for the worship set for Sunday: Worship Music - GOSPEL OF MARK PROJECT (weebly.com) Worship is a powerful weapon we have been given to fight our battles in the spiritual warfare we are all entangled in. As Jesus was coming into Jerusalem in what we call the 'Triumphal Entry' in Matthew 21; Jesus enters into the temple and cleanses it of its idolatry and business mindedness. This then causes the blind and lame to come to Him and the children began to shout “Hosanna to the Son of David”. The chief priests and scribes become indignant about the children shouting those words in the temple and the ask Jesus if He hears what they are saying. Jesus responds to them with an Old Testament text that provides insight into the power of worship and praise. Jesus says in Matthew 21:26b-- And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘OUT OF THE MOUTH OF INFANTS AND NURSING BABIES YOU HAVE PREPARED PRAISE FOR YOURSELF’?” Isn't it beautiful that the Almighty Lord, Creator of all things has prepared to use infants and nursing babies for praise for Himself? The power of simple, innocent worship out of the mouths of the children of God. What's very interesting about this verse is that Jesus slightly changes the original text in Psalm 8:2. Psalm 8:2 says: From the mouths of infants and nursing babies You have established strength Because of Your enemies, To do away with the enemy and the revengeful. Jesus has interchanged the word 'strength' in Psalm 8:2 for the word 'praise' in Matthew 21:16. Why do you think this is? One of the reasons is because Jesus is providing insight into the power and strength when simple children praise. When we look at the original text that Jesus is quoting from, we see that when we as children praise, there is strength provided. When we as children praise, the Lord establishes His strength on our behalf. When we as children praise, the Lord does away with our enemy and the revengeful spirits that afflict us. Today, if you find yourself under the attack of the enemy, become like a child again and run to your Father in praise and adoration. Open your mouth and let praises flow in the presence of your enemy, and then rest and see the strength that your Father will provide. I think worship starts with a right perspective of who God truly is, not necessarily what we have made Him to be, which drives our utter dependance upon Him. It is this dependance that shows us how impossible it is to engage in meaningful spiritual battle without His authority in our life. The lies of the enemy may start small but the path leads to destruction, either slowly or quickly, but the end is death. May we engage in worship, placing God on his rightful throne of our life, using His authority to take every thought captive and not entertain the deceit of the enemy.

Full Throated Praise and Worship is what I believe is part of true worship to the most mighty God, creator of the universe in which we collectively live.
